Patreon fee change
Added 2017-12-07 22:39:57 +0000 UTCWell people, patreon decided to change the system, and it's a pain in the !$%.
while before when you pledge, lets say 10$ kuds would get around 9~8.5$ after fees. now patreon shifts to supporter based fees while the creator (kudz) will get 95% of the pledge, so from the 9~5.5$ he would have got he will get 9.5$.
great no? well not so much
that money has to come from somewhere, and thats the supporters, patreon decided to shifts the fees to you, if before your pledge was 10$ and you paid 10$ now it will be X+2.9%+0.35$ so the 10$ will now be 10.64$ not much but that adds up and some people have a fixed amount in their head on spending.
the full explanation is here https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005631963
to reduce the effect on you i would suggest changing your pledge (or not, if you want to support kudz more and don't mind the extra fee)
to remain close to the original pledge you planned you can follow the next table i made (don't know if patreon supports non round numbers but you will get the idea)
please let me know what you think about this whole "mess"

Oh, and anything they say about making things more straight-forward or streamlines or simpler is bullshit, because before you'd pay exactly what you pledge, and now you play SOME number higher than that. The pledgers are the income on this site, the Content Creators have a volatile wad of income either way. This is going to slash overall income for both all creators AND the site itself by a double-digit percentage.

2017-12-08 03:23:21 +0000 UTCAll of my pledges are one dollar ones. This is basically going to increase my patreon expense by half, and I'm going to have to prune.

2017-12-08 03:20:40 +0000 UTCtrust me and i understand you and your point, didn't plan that this change will happen but i (iakovl) will try to reduce the impact on Kudz as much as i can with the expected people who might drop/change their pledge
2017-12-07 23:06:06 +0000 UTCyes/no/maybe... trust me, i don't like it as i (iakovl) support my fair share of creators, and this does change some things for me, but from the creators side (kudz) it does make life more ease as he will get a fixed amount and not changing one, the problem? i expect people to drop or change the pledge that in the end make things worse.
2017-12-07 23:04:38 +0000 UTCstill prefer people to know it (even if they sent a mail to all) i have a long love/hate reletionship with patreon
2017-12-07 23:02:52 +0000 UTCI'm pissed at Patreon for pulling this, 'cause I'm really not sure I can afford to pay the added costs, and really don't want to pull what meagre support I can do.
2017-12-07 22:56:33 +0000 UTCThis is pretty much bullshit on Patreon's part. After thinking about it for a couple days and talking to a bunch of different people, I have come to the conclusion that it is a blatant cash grab by them.
