Iโm late. But i wanted to say, the munchkins in the original story were short, but not little people. They were described as being as tall as Dorothy. The Wizard of Oz movie made them dwarves, but that was creative licensing. That also goes for the ruby slippers. They were actually silver/jewel shoes. Wicked took pieces from the old movie and the original book.

And I laughed when Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero) showed up and the first thing you said was, โAnthony!โ ๐ Thatโs our boy! Heโs such an amazing actor and a wonderful person, Iโm so happy heโs getting his recognition with these bigger roles lately. Iโm so hyped for Part 2 (itโs called โWicked: For Goodโ) and your reactions to it! ๐๐๐

Glinda is not truly happy in that whole scene, itโs written all over her face. Pay close attention to her expression when the munchkins start singing no one mourns the wicked, as well as when they bring in statue to burn. Or when sheโs singing โgoodness knows she died alone.โ Thereโs also confirmed a triple meaning to the lyrics in this song the end of it says No one mourns the wicked! No, ONE mourns the wicked! Know ONE mourns the wicked! The ONE is Glinda. Also she is having her come to Jesus moment in this scene, realizing SHE herself is wicked, sheโs referring to herself when she sings โ goodness knows the wickeds lives are lonely. Goodness knows theyโre left only on their own.โ
