Yep, this has happened a few times. I remember one guy several years ago thought I was the brother of the minor girl that didn't exist.. it never clicked to him that the whole thing was a setup, haha. Also, one guy apologized after the fact and said he was going to get help (in an effort to persuade me not to report him, I believe). That guy actually wanted to meet up with me again for a sit-down talk.. yeah right! And a couple times predators have sent messages after the confrontation pretending to be their crazy ex-girlfriends admitting they tried to entrap them, lol.
