Web DM Podcast 214 - Qs Start Out Mild and End with Spicy Takes

Hey there DMNs! We've got a podcast for y'all coming from an abject hell week on the Web DMiplane. Pru is in onboarding webinar video purgatory, and Jim and Emma have a sick kid, but we got a podcast for you and we think it's a good one! Jim and Emma on board today.

We start out giving you a bit of an update about our shitty weeks, and a lil bit on what we have planned with the videos and things in the future! We ask on the pod for your feedback, and let's reiterate here: if you have feedback on videos or on rewards you'd like to see on Patreon, let us know!

Then we launch into some of your questions! We've got a good mix of table problem advice, worldbuilding insight, and then we end it with one of the spicier questions we've ever been asked. What do y'all think?

Time stamps:

9:23 - Simon Payne: how do you compromise between multiple preferred playstyles between players?

22:59 - Alex Shortal: how much is too much when it comes to the character party accumulating NPC rivals, nemeses, and villains?

31:14 - Sean Rotstan: what are existing RPGs and settings that provide a realistic/grounded experience? What are some ways to make 5E like this?

41:34 - Adcon: logistically, what's really needed for a colony to become a self-sustaining nation, and how can those needs be translated into interesting adventures for a group of former pirates and their ship?

46:55 - Lugshoggoth: what is something you think would improve the TTRPG community overnight with its removal?
