Web DM Podcast 250 - D&D and DEATH

Hello DMNs! Today we've got a brand new podcast for you where we discuss a lot of the new D&D stuff - the newest UA, Spelljammer Academy, and what were at time of recording the only tidbits about the D&D movie - since then, the trailer was released. What did y'all think of it?

This week, we tackle a meaty topic - ways to make death more than an ending! And we also answer some great questions from you, our patrons, that's you, hello!

Time stamps:
25:57 - Gray: I recently tried to read a novel from a popular fantasy author (I won't name names), and I could not get past the front loaded and expository world building. I get the appeal of wanting to delve into a new magic system or whatever, but it felt like I had unwittingly cracked open a textbook. On the flipside, I've greatly enjoyed the sparseness of Elden Ring's lore - how its rules are more vague and hidden throughout the world. Obviously these are two completely different forms of media, but it got me wondering: What do you prefer in your fantasy literature/media? For rules and worldbuilding to be clearly laid out for the reader? Or more sparse and open to interpretation?

34:01 - Main Topic: Death!
