Web DM Talks Fizban's Treasury of Dragons Patron Version
Added 2021-11-11 13:32:30 +0000 UTCHey there DMNs! Starting this week, you'll be getting two exclusive patron versions of public-facing Web DM material because we're trying something a little different with our video and public podcast!
Web DM Talks, our public podcast, features a more open-ended discussion between Jim and Emma. We answer two of your patron questions, and then we discuss the main topic, which this week is Fizban's Treasury of Dragons!
The questions we feature this week are:
BenL - When do you draw the line and say a session is fully prepped and ready to play and is there such a thing as too much prep?
Peter Taylor - Last night a few people dropped out of the first dnd game I've ever DMed (or played for that matter) and we've decided to end it, at least for now.
Why am I taking this worse so hard? Should I rush into another game to fill the void or take some time to grieve(?) the last game? I also really liked the villain and plotlines in the last game, how much of those should be recycled?
On YouTube, we feature more focused, organized, and shorter-format content about the same topic. This week's show features Jim doing his first solo video, where he talks about a few things he liked, a few things he doesn't and then how he's planning to use Fizban's in his game. I'll get the audio of that up for you here in a bit!
The intent of this change is to lean into formats that align best with each platform. So, longer-form and less structured podcast, and point-by-point, organized for maximum accessibility and utility on YouTube.
We welcome feedback on both shows if you've got any thoughts. Enjoy!
