🦀 Studies & WIPs 🌊 + plans for this week

Hi patrons 👋 happy monday!!

On todays post, I'll recollect some works in progress and studies I've started this past week, starting with some doodles I did for a livestream yesterday on IG. Quality was really bad for some reason so I didn't saved the live on my profile, but here's what I did:

 ✦  I like how this mermaid is looking so far, I've already been touching it up a bit more after the livestream but it needs a looot more time and work into it:

 ✦   I also selected some movies to do a couple of color studies, this is something I've wanted to do for so long!! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to work too much on this yet, so far I only did a little study of one scene of My neighborhood Totoro from Studio Ghibli 💞

Such a cute movie! I'm planing on keep doing a couple of scenes more from Ghibli (since I feel that studying colors from animation is a bit easier) and then I'll jump into real life films/ scenes

 ✦   I posted yesterday a new sixfanarts challenge Marvel edition on IG

For this, I actually reused an illustration I did last year after Avengers Endgame lol I've never posted the close ups so I though it would be a nice opportunity to re-purpose it! Problem is, after this I got a sudden urge to do a DC edition too and add my character Primer on it!! (Primer is the protagonist of my upcoming graphic novel with DC, set to be published on June) so yeah, I might do that 👀 I know I said I wanted to focus more on original art and do less fanarts but I just can't help myself sometimes, sorry!

✦ On Friday I participated on #Creators4comics, which was a initiative to support comic shops & indie bookstores by holding online Twitter auctions to directly benefit the Book Industry Charitable Foundation. There was a LOT of things going around that were super super cool, I offered a commission of any character of their choice to the highest bid, (Since I'm not able to ship stuff right now) Today Monday, the auctions ended and we have to contact the winner and, once the donation to Binc fundation is sent, we do the arrangements to deliver the prize! I'll probably be working on that commission this week.

✦ Today I got a email from Upper Deck to work on some sketch cards for them, which sounds super exciting! I have no idea what they exactly have in mind so I need to reply some emails and see how that develops. Fingers crossed!

There're probably more things I wanna do but I can't remember now 😂 I hope this personal stuff/daily life update is interesting to you, if not, let me know!

On other different note, we're really close to reach 100 patrons on the launching month and I can't believe it!! I feel super grateful for your support on these hard times, really. Since I started to work as an artist back in 2015, I was lucky enough to have stable jobs since the beginning. First in an animation studio for almost 4 years and then a whole year with DC Comics, until I finished the graphic novel on January 2020. 

This means that these past few months I've experienced what is feels like to be completely freelance and to don't have a stable job and a steady salary at the end of each month for the first time since I started my art career. I know the world situation isn't the best right now and a lot of people are struggling with their jobs and money. Life is a little bit harder than usual for everyone this year and I feel so so grateful to be able to work from home and for you for giving me some financial stability. So my deepest thank you for you all.
