Disney has tried very hard to convince the public that WDW is doing just fine. Attendance is great! There's a simple way for us to check that, however.
At times in Disney's past they have operated with three open water parks simultaneously. Of course, this was due to demand. After River Country had to close, that left them with two very busy water parks. Even extra parking was added!
Today is the first day after the Fourth of July weekend. In other words, it's prime vacation time. Yet with only water park open (Typhoon Lagoon, the most popular), the park is only half full. If both parks once reached capacity often at this time of year, that puts this somewhere around one quarter of what it use to be.
And that's why the water parks tell the truth about attendance. No artificial capacities, no virtual queues... just one park half full.

P.s. Thank you for allowing me a brief rest over the last few days. It was much needed and appreciated!
