Exclusive First: Doctor Doom and Marvel

Sending you this before it ever makes it to the channel or anywhere else. As you are aware, we've been reporting on RDJ's return to the MCU for years. Not only that, but we also reported on the return of the Russo brothers months ago, talked about Hugh Jackman joining before anyone knew it was happening, etc. Now, I'm here to tell you a leak that is very early and may just come true.

The scripts for the Avengers movies are not yet finished and things can change. However, a source tells me that RDJ will not be the only person playing Doctor Doom if things work out the way they're hoping. RDJ will play a Tony Stark variant who uses the Doctor Doom mantle for his own purposes. Ultimately, the next two Avengers movies are going to be the finale for the MCU as we've known it with another grand sendoff for Downey and his Stark character. It will also be the grand sendoff for the Fox X-Men.

But according to my source, this is a multiverse script they're working on and RDJ will not be the only Doctor Doom. Again, we're very early, but my source is telling me that Marvel is reaching out to Viggo Mortensen in hopes that he will play the prime Doctor Doom character. There are only about three actors the Russo brothers are willing to go after... if they can't get them, they're willing to alter plans. But I'm told that Mortensen is the big catch they're after. And that means they have big money if necessary.

And after the performance of Deadpool and Wolverine this last weekend, I'll be shocked if Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman aren't in the next Avengers movies. As I've said before, Feige wants to pair Hugh Jackman and Tom Holland together. At this point, I'd put money on it.
