Black and white

In the first image, Caroline has a black background, and Iโm shooting from the opposite side of the second image, so I have the large windows behind the camera.
There is ample soft light behind the camera and from the right.
In the second image, Iโm shooting from the opposite direction.
Most light is from the left, and Iโm using a large silver reflector to make Lucindaโs skin shine.
The windows in the background are the same ones used as the previous image's leading light.
To me that is the power of a good studio:
You can use it in many ways, and both use it or suppress the environment.
I generally don't care about paper backgrounds or a seamless background/cove unless I need one specifically for a shot. I would rather have interior, daylight and ambience.
