Superbowl Halftime Show REACTION & RANT

if you feel a certain a way about anything isaid in this video i dont care

Comments

My parents kept saying it was the worst halftime show. I was so passionate about explaining it to them after explaining it all to them they saw the artistry this was the most beautiful halftime i have experienced. I really don't understand how people miss the whole point.

It'sLil' RaeRae

people that donโ€™t get itโ€ฆ they not like us

Ana Wyborski

this was probably the best half time show i've ever seen, beyoncรฉ's was the only one i can think of that rivaled it. thank you for this post ๐Ÿ’™

Alyssa

People saying this was the most "boring" half time show have to be conservatives who hate this for obvious reasons or you know... Drake fans. Even as a non American I understand how absolutely ICONIC, important and bold this was.

Hanna

This performance was SO good. So much power behind his message at a time when so many people need hope. And for him to perform in front of the president, ICONIC.

Brianna

Samuel spelled it out and they still didnโ€™t understand..

Claudy

Iโ€™m so glad that I can see this here. I hope you get to share it with everyone else who follows you on YouTube. This had to my favorite halftime show in a very long time! I hope itโ€™s not weird to say but I actually love that you threw in some cultural commentary . It just made Kendrickโ€™s performance even more impressive to me! I am glad that I didnโ€™t go Twitter to read what anyone was saying about the halftime show. Kendrick talking to Drake directly at the TV just killed me!

Krista Uren

Hasn't Beyonce already performed? She could again.

Kerri S

Plenty uneducated. Trying to get educated.

Kerri S

I'm trying.

Kerri S

This performance was amazing! And Kendrickโ€™s breath control is so damn impressive. Havenโ€™t seen anyone talking about that on top of the great discourse this halftime show has allowed us to have! Itโ€™s gonna be hard to top this one.

Asskinner

People that needed to hear this wonโ€™t get it๐Ÿ˜ญ

Sarah Morris

Also, just for inner laughs, let me quote: R for Revolution, which will be televisedโ€ฆ F is for how F'd you are! Now allow me to repriseโ€ฆ

Ella Burr

I loved every second and every moment of this whole performance. I'm not a hip hop fan, but I am a hip hop enjoyer. I don't seek it, but I definitely appreciate it. Kendrick has always been this one artist I am drawn to, and this show justified it all.

Ella Burr

The people that donโ€™t understand the message are either uneducated or they understand and just donโ€™t care

Brooke

The ugliest things rumored about Drake have direct parallels to Trump. You just have to change the acronym to Fascist Autocratic Nazi.

Molly Cornelius

I can't think of a better halftime show. I mean, really, who was better? Name one.

Molly Cornelius

I'm still unraveling and decoding all the layers, but it was clear from the first moment that the performance started that we were witnessing world class art. It was protest art of the highest level. I just keep rewatching the show over and over. I keep finding new breakdowns with new insights. It was glorious. It was riveting. It was historic. I've been so stressed out and miserable about what's going down in this country and around the world, but I felt lucky and blessed to be a witness to the day that Kendrick won the super bowl. It was even more important that he performed Not Like Us in front of the Felon in Chief who used to party with Jeffrey Epstein. The NFL removed the end zone signs that said "End Racism" for the comfort of power facists like Trump & Rupert Murdoch & the rest of the FoxTV brainwashed bigots, but Kendrick made the message so loud and beautifully clear. I was lying in bed last night trying to get to sleep and all I could think about was who could possibly follow that act next year? Who has the artistry & star power & cultural relevance to dominate thirteen minutes in a way that will last for decades? Who could do it (and is there anyone who could who the NFL & it's audience would approve?). I honestly don't know. I'd love to hear your thoughts, Jaxon. I'd love to hear the thoughts of the fam. Who is a big enough star, a powerful enough artist, a brave enough revolutionary, and someone who could get the half time slot? Who could pick up the torch that Kendrick just lit? Chappell Roan proved she had the guts to make an important political statement at the Grammys, but she's still new & the NFL isn't getting down to her music. It needs to be someone with a deeper catalog & the guts to bring the house down. Beyonce has the clout & the talent, but her political game is usually more subtle. I don't know if she's about to get up & demand a revolution - but she's still knocking down walls. I think if she felt moved to get risky, she could. Other than Bey, who could? And who WOULD? Honestly (really honestly), who could & would? What do y'all think?

Molly Cornelius

Dude, I already loved this halftime show, but your explanations of some of the lyrics and cultural-historical context behind them made it SO MUCH BETTER. Thanks for enhancing Kendrickโ€™s genius for us.

Hillary

The amount of reactions/breakdowns Iโ€™ve already watched of this show is so crazy. I canโ€™t get enough of it. Can you do more Kendrick???? Heโ€™s living rent free in my head now.

i think kendrick couldโ€™ve gone up there and said โ€œidgaf about drake im gonna talk about racism in americaโ€ and everyone wouldโ€™ve gone โ€œomg! he said drakes name during the halftime show!โ€

avery

Anyone criticizing this honestly, it just went over their heads. It was too nuanced and artistic for them. If you didnโ€™t like it, THEN IT WASNT FOR YOU MOVE ON. It seemed obvious what the meaning was to me but ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

"You would not get the picture if I sat you for hours in front of the Louvre" he knew people wouldn't get it

falling_water

The artistry and messaging were brilliant. This was the right time, and Kendrick was the right guy.

I'm going to steal this for commenting online. "Well, like my buddy Han says about people like you, you're 'either dense as hell or the other thing.'"

Cait

I've been waiting to see your reaction to this!! Been watching halftime shows for over 30 years this is by far my favorite. The artistry and storytelling is unmatched, and Kendrick is just such a dynamic performer. There are so many layered messages in this and people who think it's only about Drake or are talking sh*t on Kendrick's performance or popularity, etc are either dense as hell or the other thing.

Han

ts had me so hyppeeeeeee whole house thought it was the best halftime show in a WHILE and it had such strong symbolism it was perfect

joemily rivera

Iโ€™m not super into rap but I loved it! I didnโ€™t know so many people hated it. Even my mom, who cannot stand rap, liked it! She thought Kendrick was a cutie and has a nice voice ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Mariah Galle

black folks out here complaining about this show just the same as the uncle sam in the show! just a costume acting like you really him but none of us can hide from who we are in this game

usagi

jaxson speaking nothing but facts! and they wanna say that rap isnโ€™t artโ€ฆ and during black history month? bro knew what he was DOING!!! and it was GREAT

usagi

so great to see you break down the symbolism of the music choices! i thought the performance was so symbolic but since im not a hiphop person/only listened to gnx for the first time more recently the weaving in of the verse choices totally went over my head!!

usagi

I loved this show!! Sza was beautiful and her voice is angelic. NOT DENYING IT, but ppl on the internet unironically only praising her. The game controller, the colors, Serena fucking glowing as she's defying uncle sams warning! Everyone keeps trash talking it just like in 2012. Like yall don't get it? You had a dozen years to change as a person and you still saying she's, "ghetto" WTF this woman is trophied UP lol not to mention fucking STUHHH-HUH-NIIIIING There's some petty drama Drake stuff, but most of it has another meaning too: as the dancers march etc it's crazy how many people have talked shit on me for liking it! I'm white so as much as I feel for black ppl I cannot imagine how much more pissed I would be rn with the backlash. So many took away that the whole thing was racist and trying to talk shit that dancers were all black. Thought you were color blind, Geraldine. Didn't your vote give power to the just eliminate dei from the government? Why do you need dei for white dancers at the super bowl, but black ppl don't need protective hiring and workplace practices.

Cait

The way I ran to this when I saw! Let's go! (Omg I hope you like it cause I'll be so sad!)

Cait

yesss iโ€™m so happy u made this reaction truly one of the best halftime shows ever and the message flew over all of the ignorant racists heads

siena

Omm if I hear one more person say Sza was the best part imma lose my mind ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Katie Glass
