When they lived in the Horde they never enjoyed food. Catra and Adora had to learn to make food after the war. Adora loved the clear instructions of following a recipe but Catra enjoyed going off script to make something delicious to share. Adora didn't have the patience for baking, but Catra would enjoy it, especially how much Adora loved what she made.
The warm smell of sugar and cinnamon would fill their warm kitchen while Catra baked on cool, lazy mornings. They earned that kind of peace.
